I want to walk you through a great time-saving feature in Canva that not everyone realizes is possible – copying pages between your designs.
My primary focus as a Canva Verified Expert is teaching business owners how to get organized in Canva and use the program more efficiently. But while organizing your Canva workspace with folders, naming conventions, and tagging can save you a lot of time when you need to locate designs, it’s just as important to streamline your workflow wherever possible.
I want to help you get your Canva tasks done faster, so you can get back to the other important things on your to-do list.
This page-copying feature does exactly that by letting you quickly transfer pages between designs without starting from scratch or having to manually copy and paste over individual design elements.
Copying Pages Between Designs on Desktop
Let’s start with the desktop version. Imagine you’re putting together a webinar slide deck and want to bring over a few pages from an earlier presentation.
The great thing about this feature is that you can copy multiple pages at once, not just one at a time, which is a huge time-saver compared to recreating slides or copying individual elements.
To get started, open the design where you want to add the new pages and switch to Grid View. Then, open the design with the pages you want to copy in a separate tab and switch that to Grid View as well.
In the source design, select the pages you need, whether it’s one page or multiple pages. Once you’ve highlighted your pages, use the copy shortcut on your keyboard – Cmd-C on a Mac or Ctrl-C on Windows.
Next, go back to your new design and use the paste shortcut to add your pages… that’s Cmd-V on a Mac or Ctrl-V on Windows. They’ll appear instantly in your new design. If they didn’t paste in the right spot, simply drag and drop them into the correct order.
Copying Pages Between Designs on Mobile
Now, let’s move on to copying pages in Canva’s mobile app. The process is a bit different but just as easy once you know how it’s done.
Start by opening the design where you want to add the new page. You can add a blank page as a placeholder if needed.
Without closing the editor, head to the Projects tab in Canva’s menu, where you can access all your other designs. Locate the design containing the page you want to copy, open it, and tap on the specific page you’d like to bring over.
Canva will automatically add this page to your current design. Afterward, you can adjust the page order if necessary.
Final Thoughts
And that’s it!
Whether you’re on a desktop or mobile device, copying pages between Canva designs is a quick way to keep your projects consistent without extra work. Knowing this technique will help you get more done in less time, making it a great addition to your Canva organization toolkit.
