Helping business owners use Canva in a way that actually fits how they work

Canva Verified Expert helping small business owners use Canva effectively and efficiently—from the basics and branding to templates and staying organized.

At its core, my work is about helping business owners use Canva in a way that actually supports how they work. That means spending less time searching, recreating, and feeling frustrated, and more time getting things done.

I’ve always been wired to notice patterns, structure, and systems.

In kindergarten, while other kids played dress-up, I was happily sorting marbles and buttons in my teacher’s storage cabinet by shape, colour, and size. I didn’t think of it as organizing at the time. It just made sense to me. That instinct followed me everywhere.

I began my career working in office administration during and after university, across a mix of environments—including government, university settings, a startup tech company, and a resources association supporting the mining industry. While the industries varied, the common thread in every role was finding ways to make things work better.

If there was a faster way to assemble and distribute annual report packages, I found it. If process documentation was missing, I created it and left behind clear SOPs. And if a filing cabinet was overwhelmed and confusing, it didn’t stay that way for long.

That focus on efficiency and clarity eventually led me to start my own professional organizing business, before spending more than 20 years owning and operating a web development company. I started when domains were expensive and tools were limited, and continued as the web matured and platforms became more accessible.

Eventually, all of that experience found its way into Canva.

I started using Canva in 2014 to create branded marketing materials for my own business. While I enjoyed the design side, I paid close attention to how quickly things could become messy as content accumulated. As Canva began introducing ways to organize designs and assets, I adopted those features right away to make better use of my time.

As a service provider, that mattered.

In 2019, I launched my first Canva course to help business owners fast-track their skills. Not just in creating designs, but in working more efficiently inside the platform. Around that time, I became a Canva Certified Creative, reflecting my early focus on practical, real-world Canva use as the platform continued to grow.

Today, I’m a Canva Verified Expert. I’ve held that role since the program launched in Spring 2022, and my work focuses on helping people use Canva more effectively and efficiently as their needs grow.

For some, that starts with learning the basics and building confidence inside the platform. For others, it means creating structure around designs, uploads, and templates once content begins to pile up.

Either way, my goal is the same:

Making Canva feel easier, not heavier, as you grow

You don’t need to have everything figured out to get started.

I want Canva to feel easier to work in over time, not more complicated as your business evolves. That means learning the basics in a way that won’t box you in later, and building habits that support you as your content, offers, and ideas grow.

If you’ve ever thought, “I know Canva can do more. I just want it to feel less overwhelming,” you’re in the right place.
