Canva doesn’t currently offer a pause option for Pro subscriptions. Your choices are to keep the subscription active or cancel it — there isn’t a middle ground that lets you temporarily suspend billing while preserving your Pro access.
What You Can Do Instead
If you’re going through a quiet period and wondering whether it’s worth keeping Pro, the practical alternative is to cancel and resubscribe when you need it again.
Cancelling doesn’t delete your designs or your Brand Kit — your files stay in your account, and your Brand Kit settings are preserved, just inaccessible until you’re back on a paid plan.
When you resubscribe, your Brand Kits are restored up to the current Pro limit of five, so if you have more than five, any beyond that will be locked until you reduce your total or upgrade to a Business plan. Given that Pro now allows up to five Brand Kits rather than the previous thousand, this is worth knowing before you cancel.
The main thing to weigh is whether the cost of a month or two of Pro is worth the convenience of not having to resubscribe when you come back. For most business owners, creating content regularly, even during a slower period, usually involves enough Canva use that the subscription remains worthwhile.
One Thing Worth Knowing Before You Cancel
Canva updated its plan features in October 2025, and some of what’s included on the Pro plan changed — storage dropped from 1TB to 100GB, and the number of Brand Kits available on Pro dropped from one thousand to five.
If you cancel and resubscribe, the plan you return to will reflect current features rather than what was available when you first subscribed. Before cancelling, it’s worth reviewing Canva’s current pricing page to make sure the plan you’d be returning to still meets your needs.
