You may find sometimes that when you move a design or image into a folder, that it isn’t moving off of your Projects page the way that it should.

Sometimes folks report that a design is staying on the Projects page, just with a little label added that indicates which folder it has been moved to.

If you find that when you move files into a folder, it’s not actually moving off of the main projects page, there are a couple of things I want you to try for troubleshooting.

First, try refreshing your browser tab after you’ve moved files to see if that files them away into the folders and often it does. Same thing if you’ve deleted files from your Projects page and you’re not seeing them delete right away. Sometimes it needs a page refresh to show the update.

The second thing you can try is to make sure that this filter area on the Projects page is set to show only YOUR designs and not any designs shared with you.

So you can see how I’ve filtered my projects to only show designs and media from the Brenda Cadman account.

Now of course, that is only going to solve the problem if you use Canva as an individual. If you are using Canva as part of a team where you need to have folder organization for your other team members’ designs as well, filtering to show only your designs isn’t going to solve that problem, and you may find that switching to show all design owners results in the non-foldering bug showing up again.

While I don’t have a solution for you on this issue as of yet, I am regularly following up with my Canva community managers to request an update and I will continue to do so until there is a solution that addresses this problem.
