Imagine you are creating a handful of client proposals in Canva using one of your brand templates and each proposal contains placeholder text where the client’s name should be inserted.

If your proposal has multiple instances of this placeholder text, manually replacing each one can be both time-consuming and prone to errors.

This is where Canva’s “Find and Replace” feature becomes incredibly useful because it will enable you to effortlessly search for your placeholder text and replace it with the actual client’s name throughout the entire proposal.

So here’s how to use it.

Start by opening the design where you want to make text changes, and then you can either click on the “File” menu to locate and select the Find & Replace feature, or you can use the find shortcut to open it.

To do that, you’ll use Command-F on a Mac or Ctrl + F on Windows.

In the box that appears, type the text you want to search for in the “Find” field and in the Replace field, type the new text you want to use in place of the original.

Apply the changes on a case by case basis, or you can choose to replace all.
