Once you’ve created custom folders to organize your Canva designs and images (and I highly recommend that you do if you haven’t), you will have various ways that you can move those files around in your Canva account.

So in this quick video, let’s look at the different ways you can move and delete single Canva files as well as multiple files at the same time.

If you want to move a single design or image, you can grab it and move it into a folder, either in your Projects area, or to one of the folders in your left sidebar Projects navigation.

Or, you can click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner of a design or image’s thumbnail, and choose to move it like this.

Similarly, if you wanted to delete a single design or image, you can grab it and drag it into the Trash folder, or you can click on the 3 dots on the thumbnail and choose to delete it here.

But a lot of the time, you’ll want to move or delete multiple designs, images and/or video, and tackling your files individually is going to be a colossal waste of time.

And yes, there is a better and more efficient way to do this in Canva.

You can select multiple files either by checking them off, or by dragging and selecting them.

To check them off, you’ll hover over a design, image or video thumbnail, and when the checkbox appears here, you can check off any of the files that you want to move or delete.

Or, you can also now drag to select any of the files that you want to move or delete, and this functionality was rolled out by Canva in September 2023.

Once you have your files selected that you want to move or delete, there’s a couple of ways you can do that.

Just as you did with your single selected file, you can drag it directly into a folder or to the trash.

But what is often a more efficient way to do this is by using the icons that appear in the bottom middle of your Canva page.

With your multiple items selected, you can now move them to your desired folder by clicking on the folder icon, or you can delete them all by clicking on the trash icon.

A common question is whether there’s a way to select all items in a folder at one time, and of this recording, there is currently no “Select All” type of functionality. So if you want to select all contents of a folder to bulk delete them, drag to select will likely be your most efficient approach.
