Sometimes when you use elements from Canva’s stock library, it can be kind of tricky to find them again later when you want them.

If you want to reuse an element that you’ve used in a past design, you can always open up that previous design and then copy/paste the element into the new design.

But an easier way to create a little bit of a stock image reference library in your Canva account is to utilize the information icon in combination with a custom folder system.

So let me show you what I mean.

First, you can find more information about any element you’ve used in a design by clicking on this information icon.

When you do that, you’re going to see a lot of information including the name of the element, who the creator is, the keywords associated with that element, and a variety of other information.

But you’ll also see that you can star the icon in order to add it to your star folder.

Or, you can choose to save the icon, illustration or photo to a custom folder in your projects area.

This is going to allow you to break down your folder system into something more organized and intuitive if you have a lot of images that you want to easily access at a later date.

Whereas if I was to just star everything, if I have a lot of images, that starred folder could become pretty overwhelming.

So for example, if I wanted to save this icon into my elements folder system, I will simply browse to the folder that I want it to be saved in, and then I can save it for future reference.

Then the next time I open up a design, I can access that element via the project section in my left hand design editor navigation.
